My Style Icons!

I may not be the only one who feels this way but I grew up watching Full House and idolizing Michelle Tanner, which is why Mary-Kate and Ashely Olsen are my style icons.

These girls have done so much with their lives. I mean sure they have had their problems but what celebrity or "real" person hasn't, they have to go through it in front of everyone. They have overcome a lot over the years being in the spotlight since basically their birth! I just wanted to take my last blog to discuss what they have done in the fashion world over the years.
First: a clothing line in Wal-Mart stores across North America for girls ages 4 – 14 as well as a beauty line called "Mary-Kate and Ashley: Real fashion for real girls". In 2004 they made news by signing a pledge to allow all the workers that sew their line of clothing in Bangladesh full maternity leave.
Next: The twins were asked to be the faces of Badgley Mischka in 2006.
More recently: They launched their own couture fashion label "The Row" named after the famous Savile Row of London. They also created a new line for "The Row" called "Elizabeth & James", after their siblings.
The twins also have a book entitled, "Influence" which celebrates not only their fashion choices throughout the years, but also the countless designers and artists who have inspired them—and their amazing style—along the way.
These girls are amazing assets to the fashion world trendsetting from day to day.

Burrrr its cold!!!!

Winter has officially arrived and we have had our first snow of the season. What I want to know is what am I supposed to wear this winter season. What's in? What's out? I love winter clothes, shoes, and other accessories but I can't wear them all together... or can I?
According to Instyle, the 2009 winter trends are long-sleeve mini-dresses, animal print clutches (preferably leopard), dressy feminine coats, black tie blazers, the infamous peep-toe booties, metallic skirts, sequins, sleeveless cardigans, feathers, velvet, and statement hoops are back in ladies!

Cold weather accessories that are also in include: over the knee boots, gloves gone wild! Knit gloves, leather gloves, lace gloves... pick what fits your personality and color match them with a variety of scarves, anything with ruffles, hats are in as well, very in "vogue".
I am so excited!!!! I love to spice up my outfit with colorful scarves, hats, and gloves.

Celebrity Fashions: Who is wearing who?

We all know that celebrities are a major influence on fashion and trends. So I thought it would be pertinent to share what celebs are wearing what designers. What category these celebs fall into may ultimately lead their followers in that style direction.
A bit of a haha is Lindsay Lohan wearing Lindsay Lohan.

On a more serious note, celebs are wearing the likes of designers such as McQueen, Balenciaga, Christian Louboutin, Louis Vuitton,Yves Saint Laurent, BCBG, Christian Dior, Oscar de la Renta, and Stella McCartney.

Christian Dior:

Louis Vuitton:

Oscar de la Renta:

Stella McCartney:

Yves Saint Laurent:

BCBG:

Christian Louboutin:

Balenciaga:

McQueen:

Whose your favorite celeb? Would you follow the trends they set? Do you think that these celebs are creating their own trends or do you think that someone is behind them all the time telling them what to wear and what will be "in". Are they really the trend setters?
